DAC8 in progress

On the 15th March, the European Commission launched a public consultation to evaluate the extension of the current directive on administrative cooperation (DAC), to provide for the exchange of information in the field of taxation to include crypto-assets and e-money.

Depending on the outcome of the public consultation, the Commission will then consider whether and which assets should be subject to any proposed expansion of DAC, including how to define crypto-assets and to also identify the relevant intermediaries for tax and reporting purposes.
